Party ideas - more appetizers

I had a hard time when I threw a party for the first time. I didn’t know how to manage time for cooking, talking to friends …. I’m sure many of you have the similar experiences. Here is some appetizers that you can prepare ahead of time. When your friends arrive, you just need to serve them. It really helps.

Dips

There are many kinds of dips. What you need to know is the base. Once you know it, you can make many kinds of dips! I recommend making it at least 2-3 hours before you serve them. (The flavor comes out from the ingredients that way.)
Serve them with stick vegetables.

Dip Base

½ cup Sour cream
½ cup Mayonnaise
Salt and pepper to taste

Mix them all together.

Versions…

Scallion Dip
Chop four scallions and add to the base. (I like lots of scallion in it. Probably I use more than four…)

Italian herb dips
Add dried herbs such as dill, oregano etc, and a clove of minced garlic and little bit of lemon juice.

Carry dip
Add curry powder.


Rum Raisin Cream Cheese

My friends loved this. This is for adult only….

½ cup Raisin
Rum
1 pk of cream cheese

Put raison in a small jar and add rum until the raisin is covered. Let it sit for at least a week. Ideally, you want mix it every day so that the raisin absorb rum equally. You can make a lot of them at a time. You can keep it 3-4 months. It’s good for baking cake, too.

Mis cream cheese(room temperature) and the rum raisin. You can use the raisin as much as or as little as you want.If you have energy to whip the cheese, that's better. I recommend to serve this at room temperature. It gets little hard if you put it in the refrigerator.

Seave with your favorite crackers.
